Welcome to All Music Inc's Musicdungeon! Right now, you are looking at a beautiful vintage/antique cornet.
This is an antique F Besson Brevete cornet.

This Besson features a 4 5/8" bell, and a .49" bore.
There's a ton of history with Besson brass instruments.
Based upon the many stamps/markings, this dates to the mid 1870's - a near 150 year old example - wow!!
The bell stamps are as follows:
28 Medals of Honour
The monogram "FR", followed by F Besson Brevetee 198 Euston Road London *. Louis Schreiber Sale Agent U. States.
The valves have the numbers 34, 35, and 35 stamped on them.
The serial number is 19552, and the number 854 stamped on the mouthpiece receiver.
It's in good overall condition, especially considering its almost 150 years old.
Normal wear you'd expect - marks/scratches, oxidation/pitting.
